Staged at the Invista offices at 1430 Broadway in New York, the presentation included prototype samples on mannequins, fabric swatches and video clips of lingerie and ready-to-wear runway shows in Europe. It featured three themes:

• Enchanted State, which focuses on the new Lycra spandex 2.0 garment technology that is seamless and bonds through heat activation. The result is allover smooth hems and seams that create a fluid silhouette with premium stretch and recovery.

• Fantastic Dreams, which features Lycra Xtra Fine Collection fiber that blends natural fibers such as soy, silk and Modal with Lycra, and provides lightweight freshness and breathability and enhances the comfort level like a second skin.

• Lycra freshFX, a fabric that wicks away moisture and feels cool and dry against the skin all day.

Dianne Lober, marketing communications manager at Invista Inc., said the Enchanted State theme embodies “seamless elegance and high-tech luxe.”

“With Lycra 2.0 garment technology, the look is supple and fluid, delicate yet textured, and it can be pleated,” said Lober.

Key colors include muted pastels, blush, peony, garnet, metallic copper and turtledove gray.

Lober described the Fantastic Dreams group as “vivacious and whimsical with sheer radiance.” Elements include translucence and satiny cascading seduction. The color palette covers greige, celadon, aqua, tumeric, blueberry, ruby and loden green.

“We did see a lot of satin intimate apparel and it was very apparent on the Paris runways,” said Roseann Beutel, Invista’s intimates marketing manager. “There were a lot of youthful, sexy, shimmery and lacy looks. I have never seen so much lace in lingerie departments at department stores in Paris, as well as beautiful, gorgeous laces in other apparel departments.”

The Dancing Wind theme represents a “playful yet spiritual” mood said Lober, who noted top colors include olive, coral and mocha. Inspiration gleaned for Lycra freshFX fabric is “sport-inspired.”
