Marmot, the outdoor apparel brand, will be the presesenting sponsor of the Empire State Building Run-Up, set for Feb. 4, 2015. 

“The Run-Up is a globally iconic race that challenges both body and mind in what some adventure enthusiasts consider the ultimate test of endurance, and Marmot has been outfitting athletes like these around the world with the best apparel for more than four decades. It’s a natural partnership and we look forward to taking the event to new heights with them in the years to come,” said Anthony E. Malkin, chairman and chief executive officer of Empire State Realty Trust, Inc., which owns the building.

Mark Martin, president of Marmot Mountain LLC and Jarden Technical Apparel, called the race “a landmark event for Marmot.”

The Challenged Athletes Foundation is the charity partner this year.

The Empire State Run-Up historically draws around 400 athletes to race up the 86 flights to the top of the 1,454-foot building. The winners usually get to the top in around 10 minutes.
