Swimsuit and resortwear designer Miguelina has partnered with the world’s largest ocean charity, Oceana, on a six-piece capsule collection of beachwear and accessories. The collection launches on Net-a-porter today.

A lifelong beach worshipper, Dominican-born designer Miguelina Gambaccini was distressed when she saw trash washing up daily on the shores of Tulum, where she spent several months two winters ago.  She wanted to take action and approached Oceana, which focuses on ocean conservation. Together, the two decided to create Miguelina x Oceana. In addition to its global launch on Net-a-porter, the capsule will be sold on

The accessories and apparel retails from $45 to $250 and includes necklaces handcrafted in Africa, Panama hats and swimwear made in the Dominican Republic, as well as the “Beachy Bracelet”  made in New York. The bikini, bag, T-shirt and hangtags all carry a custom-designed shark logo, inspired by Oceana’s campaigns to protect sharks threatened by by-catch and shark finning.

The collaboration will support Oceana’s efforts to restore the world’s oceans by combating climate change, protecting key species and advocating for science-based fisheries management.

Photographer Jeff Hornbaker shot a campaign in Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu capturing the aquatic spirit and mission of the collection. It will appear on social channels for Oceana and Miguelina.
