Negative does nude.

The online lingerie brand has released Nude v1, a nude colorway in its Essaouira and Sieve collections, which include a bodysuit, demi bra, balconette bra, thong and a brief. Bras retail from $70 to $85, underwear retails from $28 to $40 and the bodysuit retails for $200.

Nude v1 joins Negative’s current color range, which includes black, white, boa, a snake print, and albatross, a digital floral print.

Negative founders Marissa Vosper and Lauren Schwab, who previously worked in branding and finance, respectively, opted for a nontraditional nude.

“In picking our first neutral shade, we knew it would be next to impossible to match a universal skin tone with any one Pantone color. We wanted to pick a beautiful, bright shade that wasn’t so tepid. A color you’d be proud to wear without any clothes on or something you’d be just as likely to gravitate towards if it were a ready-to-wear garment,” Vosper said.

Vosper and Schwab, who launched the line last year, plan on releasing additional nude shades down the line. They are also exploring summer pop-ups in the Hamptons and Malibu.

Category expansion is another goal for the self-funded brand. They will introduce an expanded size range and are working on a wireless bra and a high-waist brief.

The line is only available on Negative’s e-commerce site. While Schwab said wholesale will never be their core distribution model, it’s something they are considering.
