Italian legwear company Ori Industria SpA is gearing up for a journey to North America.

Founded by Luciano Gerevini in 1963 near Mantua in northern Italy, the company, which is currently headed by Marco Gerevini (Luciano’s son), has signed an agreement with the American firm Leg Resource Inc. for the distribution of its Ori and Immagine Italiana brands in the U.S. and Canada starting in August.

“Our company is focused on creating products that combine high quality with good value for money,” said Ori Industria SpA general manager Giovanna Mira, who cited Eastern Europe as the company’s main market.

Ori, which covers a mid-to-high segment of the market, offers a classic line alongside seasonal collections. For spring, the brand is focused on romanticism, delivering stockings and thigh-highs with lace intarsia, feminine patterns and light effects obtained through the use of shiny fabrics. Prices range from 15 euros, or $18 at current exchange, for the more basic styles, to 100 euros, or $122, for silk models embellished with beads, Swarovski Elements and lace.

Positioned in the middle bracket of the legwear market, Immagine Italiana includes products of the same design quality, but featuring less expensive fabrics, with prices ranging from 5 to 20 euros, or $6 to $24.
