Pro Player New York City

Pro Player is getting primed for a reboot.

United Legwear & Apparel Co. now holds the master license for the heritage athletic brand and Perry Ellis International Inc. will remain the licensor.

The revitalization plans include a new logo and a marketing partnership with Major League Baseball, which will entail ballpark signage, stadium program ads and hospitality activations.

United Legwear & Apparel will also bring on professional athletes as brand ambassadors from baseball, basketball, football and soccer.

“Pro Player is a name I grew up with and loved,” said Isaac E. Ash, founder, chief executive officer and president of United Legwear & Apparel, which also holds the license for Happy Socks, Skechers socks and Gold’s Gym activewear. “My investment in Pro Player is driven by strong consumer recognition of the brand, combined with the adaptability of the Pro Player wordmark to so many product categories. There’s tremendous growth potential across soft lines, sporting goods and many fitness areas.”

Pro Player, which will produce apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women, and children, will target specialty sport stores, sporting good chains and department stores.
