The Super Bowl translated into super sales of licensed product for the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to Fanatics, the global leader for licensed sports merchandise, sales of Super Bowl championship merchandise across the Fanatics network of sites — which includes both NFLShop.com and the Chiefs’ online store — are currently running up more than 70 percent year-over-year. The top selling item is the Locker Room Championship T-shirt.
That means that the Chiefs are on pace to become the second best-selling Super Bowl champion of all-time, trailing only the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.
Sales of women’s merchandise are up more than 50 percent compared to that sold after the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl win last year as well.
In addition, 82 percent of all sales in the first hour following the completion of the game came from mobile devices, which set a Fanatics record for championship merchandise sold via mobile.
