Tyr Sport has signed four-time Olympic gold medalist winning swimmer Dana Vollmer to its roster of sponsored athletes.
Vollmer started her quest for Olympic success at age 12, becoming the youngest swimmer to compete in the 2000 Olympic trials. In 2004, she earned her first gold medal as a member of the 4×200-meter free relay in Athens. In 2012, she won three gold medals and set two world records at the London Olympic Games, including becoming the first woman to swim the 100 meter butterfly in under 56 seconds.
Now a mother, Vollmer calls herself a “momma on a mission” and she hopes to qualify for the next Games in Rio de Janeiro.
“Learning to be a mom and getting back in the pool have taught me to trust my instincts,” she said. “The first race I swam in the Tyr suit, I knew it was right for me. Then I met the team of Tyr athletes and employees and there was no doubt that I was in the right spot.”
Matt DiLorenzo, chief executive officer of Tyr Sport, called Vollmer “an inspiration in and out of the pool, and we cannot wait to see her succeed in 2016.”
