Seattle Pacific Industries Inc. has signed licensing pacts for two new categories bearing the Unionbay brand: outerwear and boardshorts for young men and boys, and juniors and girls’ intimate apparel, loungewear and sleepwear.

Summit Apparel Group will design and produce boardshorts inspired by surf, skate, snowboard and retro influences in fabrications including micro satin and yarn-dyed cotton twills. The boardshorts will be introduced to the trade in June and will be available at stores in spring 2011.
Retail prices for the boardshorts will be $24 to $60. Outerwear will sell for $60 to $100 and will be unveiled to merchants in January and will be in-store for the fall 2011 back-to-school season.
Panties Plus Inc. will launch Unionbay intimates, sleepwear and loungewear for b-t-s at retail. Young men’s and boys’ products including underwear will be introduced at the August market.
The initial juniors and girls’ collection will feature undies, bras and lounge pieces will a focus on classic styling with a touch of feminine edginess. Fabrics and prints will take inspiration from Unionbay sportswear and will include plaids, ombrés and burnout effects, denim looks, and graffiti motifs.
