Eric Wiseman, chairman, president and chief executive officer off VF Corp., has been appointed to the board of Lowe’s Cos. Inc., the home improvement retail chain based in Mooresville, N.C.
Wiseman, who also serves on the board of Cigna Corp., will be a member of the company’s compensation and governance committees. His addition expands the body’s size to 11 members, 10 of whom are independent.
Wiseman joined Greensboro, N.C.-based VF in 1995, became president and a director in 2006 and has been its chairman and ceo since 2008. In the five years since his promotion to president, VF’s annual revenues have grown to $7.7 billion from $6.2 billion and it’s acquired The Timberland Co., Seven For All Mankind and Lucy Activewear, among other assets.
Robert Niblock, chairman, president and ceo of Lowe’s, called Wiseman “an innovative thinker with significant management experience leading top consumer brands.”
