Billy Reid will open his second New York City store at 94 Charles Street in Greenwich Village on Nov. 5. The 1,000-square-foot unit will be the designer’s 11th U.S. store.
In addition to the core men’s wear collection, the Charles Street store will also carry custom textiles, an expanded women’s collection and the soon-to-launch MSL denim collection.
“Our second New York City store will house what is essentially a highly curated assortment of our collections,” Reid said. “It will be a showcase for our most interesting pieces, many of which have traditionally only been used for runway or editorial purposes.”
The shop will sport reclaimed white oak flooring, hand-made bronze fixtures and signs and custom furniture milled and finished in Reid’s hometown of Florence, Ala.
“The West Village is a vibrant shopping district, and a neighborhood that’s home to many customers who currently shop at our Bond Street location,” Reid added. “We’d been eyeing a smaller footprint there for a few years, and we loved the Charles Street space.” A store on Bond Street has been open since 2008.
Reid said he plans to add four to five stores over the next 12 months in markets including Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
