MILAN – Bulgari is expanding its hotel business with plans to open a new venue in London in spring 2012, just in time for the Olympic Games.
The luxury hotel, under an agreement with London-based luxury property developer Prime Development, will be located in London’s Knightsbridge area.
“We are extremely proud to be able to open a Bulgari Hotel in the heart of London, something that we have wanted to do for a long time,” said Francesco Trapani, chief executive officer of Bulgari Group. “This hotel – the first new-build luxury hotel in London for over 40 years – will be another important element in the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts project. I’m convinced that it will be a further statement of our brand in the UK, which is a strategic market for luxury goods.”
The Rome-based Italian jewelry firm first opened a hotel in Milan in 2004, followed by a resort in Bali in 2006 in a venture with Marriott’s International Luxury Group.
