ONE BRICK, ONE CLICK: Burberry is pushing further into Asia on the brick and click front, with a standalone store in Japan and a virtual one in South Korea. Burberry has opened its first freestanding store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, Japan. Set over two floors, the store carries women’s wear, men’s wear, accessories, eyewear, watches and Made in England trench coats. The net selling space is 8,691 square feet.

To mark the opening, a collection of men’s and women’s accessories has been designed exclusively for the store. It includes limited-edition versions of Burberry bag styles, the Mini Bee bag and the Petal bag for women. Burberry currently has four mainline stores and twelve concessions in Japan, where it has taken back its historic licenses, and will start selling its global collections as of June.

In South Korea the brand has unveiled a Burberry store, a new digital collaboration with the Shinsegae Group, the luxury department store. The custom-built, dedicated space mirrors the brand’s online flagship store,, and offers Korean consumers a tailored assortment of Burberry products from the men’s wear, women’s wear, children’s and accessories collections. The store is accessible in South Korea across all mobile, tablet and desktop devices.
