The deal was sealed when Adrian Joffe, president of Comme des Garçons, personally reached out to Italo Zucchelli, men’s creative director at Calvin Klein Collection, back in January. Dover Street Market is owned by Comme des Garçons.
“I was thrilled,” Zucchelli said after receiving the offer. “Dover Street Market is one of the most relevant and exciting stores in the world, so this is important for the Calvin Klein Collection brand.”
“Calvin Klein is such an iconic brand and the runway collection is not very available for customers to buy outside of their own stores,” said James Gilchrist, Dover Street Market New York’s general manager. “So we felt it only right to introduce it to DSM in a special space with special products designed for us by Italo.”
The fall Calvin Klein collection will launch at Dover Street Market London and New York this weekend during the store’s biannual changeover to the new season. The selection will include the Escape style sweater, created exclusively for the shop, among others.
