Carolina Herrera certainly likes the Sunshine State. The company has opened its third CH Carolina Herrera store in Florida with a new boutique in the Bal Harbour Shops.

With many shoppers buying handbags, accessories, sunglasses and sportswear, the store has already exceeded initial sales expectations, said Caroline Brown, president of Carolina Herrera. The 1,700-square-foot space is the only CH Carolina Herrera store to be located in a shopping center, which also houses a Carolina Herrera New York boutique. The CH Carolina Herrera store is located directly above Carolina Herrera New York, but shoppers must use the main entrances to access each.

To mark the store’s opening, Carolina Herrera will host an event on March 8 to benefit the Jackson Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the Jackson Health System.

Having opened 13 CH Carolina Herrera stores last year in such locales as Peru, Mozambique and two in the United Arab Emirates, the company is gearing up for additional openings this year. With distribution in 26 countries, the CH Carolina Herrera brand currently has 83 freestanding locations and 190 shop-in-shops worldwide. The Bal Harbour shop offers women’s, men’s and children’s clothing as do the other 14 CH Carolina Herrera stores in the U.S. Designed with a bit of a residential feel, the boutique displays colorful leather handbags in wooden shelves and the CH Carolina Herrera fragrance rests on an oversize table with a neat stack of art-minded books nearby.

In keeping with the design aesthetic of the other stores, the Bal Harbour location features tinted walnut and signature touches of red. “Miami is a great international market for us. We already have a customer in that market. Now people can find another look,” Brown said. “We put the store on top of the Carolina Herrera [New York] store — so there is an upstairs-downstairs thing going on.”
