Just in time for the holidays, Corneliani has opened a flagship in Shanghai.
The three-level store is located in Citic Square along Nanjing West Road, one of the city’s most famous shopping streets. The store was designed by Daniela Podda and Paolo Ponti and is the brand’s 40th China unit.
It features a striking exterior with interlocking bronze rings, the design of which is repeated in the wood on the interior facades of two of the floors. The rings are designed to evoke the artist Andrea Mantegna’s work, “Bridal Chamber,” from Mantua, where Corneliani was founded.
The interior design is similar to the company’s Milan store and includes anegré, leather, suede and patterned microfiber fabrics, macassar ebony paneling, polished stainless-steel finishes, marble floors and carpeting in dark brown, sand and light gray.
