Iceberg has tapped Arthur Arbesser as the new creative director of its women’s line.

Born in Austria, the Milan-based designer succeeds Alexis Martial, who left the company last February to join Carven.

Arbesser launched his namesake brand in February 2013 after cutting his teeth at Giorgio Armani.

“Since the beginning, the brand stood out for the research, the new trends and the scouting of young designers,” said Paolo Gerani, chief executive officer of Gilmar, which owns the Iceberg label. “Arthur embodies the brand’s DNA and the Made In Italy craftsmanship.”

“Iceberg means color, graphics, quality and irony, distinctive marks which I have always searched and liked. I’m honored to continue the story of this iconic Italian brand, which was founded more than 40 years ago,” said Arbesser, whose first collection for Iceberg will bow in September
