KICKING BACK: The IMG Lounge at NYFW: The Shows at Skylight at Moynihan Station has been designed by Ally Coulter, vice president and creative director, Luxury Living Group USA/Fendi Casa. Black and white pieces from the Fendi Casa collection and pieces from the Countour collection by Paul Mathieu are featured prominently in the space.
“I added a touch of travertine tones and golden-yellow color that were inspired by the architecture and golden sun of Roma as a nod to Fendi and all the beauty, craftsmanship and detail of the brand,” said Coulter.
The walls of the lounge will be lined with “Pirelli Icons,” which will host an exhibition of nearly 100 photos selected from the past 50 years of Pirelli calendars. The exhibition can be seen throughout fashion week at Skylight at Moynihan Station and will be celebrated during an invitation-only event on Saturday.
Made Fashion Week will have a newly redesigned Lexus Lounge at Milk for designers, editors and guests. Joel Fitzpatrick has reimagined the lounge, inspired by the principles found in Lexus automotive design of Wabi-Sabi and the art of origami. He has applied the origami technique — a flat sheet of paper that’s bended and folded into a dimensional sculpture — to the walls and furniture of the lounge, modulating metal tiles, some in the shape of the Lexus spindle grill to show movement and acceleration.
Catering for the lounge will be by one of Lexus’ culinary masters, Carlo Mirarchi, of the Brooklyn restaurants Roberta’s and Blanca.
