The London-based label, a favorite of the Duchess of Cambridge, said Friday that Angelina Ypma has been named its ceo, and will take the post Aug. 1.
She was most recently managing director of Bulgari U.K. and Ireland.
Ypma replaces Anil Tanna, who is retiring. Tanna had been at Issa since Camilla Al Fayed, a daughter of Mohamed Al Fayed, took a controlling stake in the business last July. Daniella Issa Helayel, the brand’s founder, continues to serve as creative director of the business.
“I have greatly enjoyed the varied challenges of the last 12 months and am very proud of the progress achieved by the team at Issa in such a short space of time,” stated Tanna. “I…believe that we have now placed Issa on a strong footing for its continued development and growth as a business.”
Ypma has also held positions at brands including Chanel, Cartier and Lanvin. “I relish the challenge of fully realizing the potential of Issa into an international brand.”
