LONDON — In the industry’s latest Anglo-Italian pairing, Aquascutum has joined forces with Ittierre SpA for the production and distribution of the British brand’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories.

The six-year licensing deal, which will be unveiled today is for the continental European, Russian and Middle Eastern markets. The collections will bow for fall 2012.

“Today’s announcement represents the next step in Aquascutum’s international growth story,” Harold Tillman, chairman of Aquascutum, said.

Tillman said Ittierre’s “network and expertise in manufacturing and distribution will help us grow the brand outside the U.K. It complements our ongoing expansion activity in London, via store openings and a growing online presence, our U.K. manufacturing operations, and our ambitions for the next phase — growth in the Americas.”

Alessandro Locatelli, general manager of Ittierre, said: “It has been our ambition to work with a great British fashion brand such as Aquascutum.

“The partnership exemplifies the company’s business development strategy: introducing Ittierre as a specialist in the production and distribution of ready-to-wear collections, while at the same time maintaining the company’s traditional leadership in the bridge and accessories collections segments. The agreement with Aquascutum marks the fourth new license in 2011 for the company.”

Ittierre most recently inked a deal to produce and distribute Karl Lagerfeld’s new signature collection, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, starting in fall 2012.
