Katy Perry

Hong Kong-based Global Brands Group Ltd. said Wednesday it has formed a new joint venture with Katy Perry to produce a range of consumer product categories and develop the performer’s brand.

Just last month, Global Brands and Perry launched a shoe collection together. Katy Perry Footwear includes a range of sandals, sneakers, stilettos and pumps designed to reflect Perry’s bold, colorful personal style.

“Our footwear partnership is a strong foundation for endless opportunities as we explore the next natural design branches together,” Perry said.

Perry is known for her bold, vampy, at times cartoonish style, often wearing custom designs by Jeremy Scott. Some of the materials used in Perry’s spring 2017 footwear collection include Lucite and vinyl, mixed with metallic and floral prints. Prices range from $59 to $299.

“Katy Perry is one of the most popular and well-recognized personalities in the world. She pushes boundaries professionally and stylistically, setting trends along the way. We are extremely pleased about the positive response we have already received around the footwear collection, and look forward to the exciting opportunities this expanded partnership has to offer,” said Bruce Rockowitz, chief executive officer and vice chairman of Global Brands.

Global Brands is a spin-off of sourcing giant Li & Fung. It licenses, manages and controls brands. Within its portfolio are JLo by Jennifer Lopez, Sean John, David Beckham and Juicy Couture, as well as Rachel Zoe for footwear, among others. The company also has a venture brand management company with Creative Artists Agency, called CAA-GBG Brand Management Group.
