Kenzo is jumping into e-commerce in the U.S.
The Paris-based brand on Wednesday launched its first e-store in America, with delivery available in all 50 states. The brand had previously only been available online in Europe.
“Ever since our beginnings at Kenzo, we have always put our online activity at the forefront of the brand’s development,” said creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. “We are excited at how quickly the online business has grown across Europe and helped us to build a strong, loyal and dynamic community. We feel Kenzo is now ready to enter a new market, our home market.”
Lim and Leon are the founders and owners of Opening Ceremony, based in New York City.
The focus on e-commerce is even more important since Kenzo has no store in the U.S. at this time, the duo said.
Kenzo.com was designed in-house in France in partnership with Itélios and Big Youth, who worked with the brand on the development and integration of the site.
It was recently revamped to better integrate branded content and e-commerce and will be updated twice a month. It will offer images and videos as well as “custom experiences” tailored to the season, the company said.
“We wanted to edit and amplify,” Lim and Leon said, “to create a powerful online experience as well as make it easy to buy product.”
The U.S. e-commerce site went live with the brand’s holiday capsule collection.
