The two brands, which teamed for the first time last January to deliver a co-branded capsule unveiled during MSGM’s men’s fall 2017 runway show, renewed their partnership to launch a new spring 2018 lineup for both men and women.
Inspired by late Seventies activewear, in particular tennis, the new collection combines retro elements with innovative and contemporary fabrics. For example, tracksuits come both in triacetate and in a bold version crafted from a metallic laminated canvas. Women’s tracksuit tops are manufactured from coated lace, while color-blocked pique cotton is used in polos. Tennis-inspired prints of rackets, shoes and balls appear across the lineup.
The MSGM x Diadora capsule includes two special versions of the active brand’s B.Elite and MI Basket archival trainers, which feature the sole covered with rubber in contrasting colors and show the dates 1948 and 2009 — when Diadora and MSGM, respectively, were founded.
The collection will retail from 100 euros to 400 euros.
The initial MSGM x Diadora fall capsule is hitting about 100 stores this month, including Saks Fifth Avenue in New York; Le Bon Marché in Paris; Milan’s Excelsior; Galeries Lafayette in Hong Kong; Club 21 in Singapore, and Tsum in Moscow.
