MILAN — Upper contemporary label No. 21 is opening its first flagship in Italy in January.
The 1,292-square-foot boutique will be located on Via Santo Spirito, in the heart of the city’s Golden Triangle luxury shopping district, and will carry the brand’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections.
“The first No. 21 flagship in Italy represents a pivotal achievement in the brand’s growth path and I’m extremely happy we were able to integrate all the elements defining the label’s style,” said No. 21 founder and creative director Alessandro Dell’Acqua. “The use of Milanese architecture’s signature materials is my personal tribute to the city, which I feel particularly close to.”
Conceived by the designer in collaboration with architect Hannes Peer, the store includes three different rooms. The first features a black and white marble floor, a polycarbonate ceiling, as well as walls covered with bakelite and sculpted wood, while the second is covered with mirrors and shows an Art Deco-inspired crystal table evoking Damien Hirst’s works. The third room, which is dedicated to accessories, has the walls and the floor covered with the same kind of stones used in the Duomo cathedral.
No. 21 already operates a flagship in Tokyo.
