Paul & Shark will relocate its Madison Avenue store to a prime location across the street from Barneys New York next year.
The luxury Italian sportswear company has leased 3,000 square feet in the Hartz Mountain building at 667 Madison Avenue between 60th and 61st Streets. Paul & Shark will replace Michael Kors, which will open a new flagship in the current Steuben store. The deals were completed by Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group.
Paul & Frank has operated a smaller store at Madison Avenue and 66th Street since 1998. The new location, which is close to Calvin Klein, DKNY and Bergdorf Goodman Men, will include a lower level, concourse and mezzanine and will house the company’s full lifestyle collection for men and women.
“This new location offers us dramatic double-height frontage and interior,” a Paul & Shark spokeswoman said. “The southward move…positions the Paul & Shark global brand to an area of higher traffic and concentration of luxury brands.” The store is expected to open in the summer of 2012.
