Pieters was not available for comment.

The Antwerp, Belgium-based designer took over the design leadership of the Hugo brand in 2007, and gave the Boss Group’s most unconventional men’s and women’s collection a sharp, new edge.

A new design team will be responsible for the fall 2010 collection, which will be presented to retailers in January.

“Bruno has given us a lot of important input and inspiration,” said Hugo Boss spokesman Philipp Wolff. “But there’s a lot of fresh talent in the [Hugo design] team who can now bring this fashion-forward brand into the future.”
