Givenchy on Friday said it has opened a 1,969-square-foot store at the Aventura Mall in Miami.
The Aventura unit becomes the luxury brand’s second freestanding store in the city, after the 2014 launch of a unit at the Miami Design District. It’s the fourth point of sale considering that Bal Harbour is only eight miles from Miami. Givenchy women’s and men’s collections are sold at Neiman Marcus in Bal Harbor and women’s is offered at Saks Fifth Avenue.
The Aventura store is said to be an evolution of Givenchy’s Paris flagship at 28 Rue Faubourg Saint-Honore, blending street style and aristocratic elegance through the use of finely honed and raw materials. A black facade with Givenchy spelled out in gold, herringbone wood parquet floors and white rectangular display pieces create a bold, high-contrast environment.
The store pays homage to the boxes Hubert de Givenchy used for delivering his haute couture dresses, conjuring them as half-opened black lacquered boxes. The fall ready-to-wear collections for men and women displayed in half-closed black lacquered boxes and accessories are shown to full effect on black podium and light niches.
The Aventura store is a continuation of Givenchy’s U.S. expansion, which began in 2014 with a 3,000-square-foot unit at the Wynn Resort Promenade in Las Vegas.
