The buzzy models, who all took a turn on Tom Ford’s see-now-buy-now runway show earlier this month at the Four Seasons restaurant during New York Fashion Week, are getting the Ford focus as faces of the designer’s new ad campaign. The mostly digital campaign, which was teased in The New York Times in print earlier this month, launched on TomFord.com on Wednesday.
Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the ads feature the models in some of the fall looks that were shown at his fashion week presentation, an intimate dinner and show, attended by the likes of Jon Hamm, Karlie Kloss and Cindy Crawford, to name a few. The photos are lush and moody, a quintessential Ford aesthetic, and focus on eveningwear, sportswear and eyewear, including the limited-edition acetate aviator Clint sunglasses.
Ford’s spring 2016 campaign was shot by Nick Knight and had a decidedly more dynamic feel, with models dancing, their hair blowing.
“I’m more interested in style than fashion,” the designer told WWD prior to his fashion week show. “Will someone wear this in 20 years?”
