Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi are launching a new fashion brand called “AR.RT.”
The designers over the last few seasons have been focusing on a more minimal, clean aesthetic for their luxury label Aquilano.Rimondi, and decided to channel bold prints and vivacious color combinations into “AR.RT.” This will offer women’s collections including easy-to-wear designs, echoing early Seventies’ silhouettes, infused with an energetic, contemporary vibe. As the Aquilano.Rimondi line, “AR.RT” is manufactured in-house by the company.
According to the designers, the brand will be distributed worldwide and will retail at a more accessible price, almost 30 percent lower than the Aquilano.Rimondi collections.
“This is not a second line, but it’s a project allowing us to express the boldest side of our approach to fashion,” said Aquilano, showing the eye-catching patterns of the spring collection, the brand’s first. This includes floral motifs with geometric accents, stripes, gingham, as well as pixelated flowers.
“With the Aquilano.Rimondi line we can focus on experimentation, while AR.RT will let us express a more free-spirited point of view,” Rimondi added.
The brand, which will feature two collections a year, presented and sold in conjunction with pre-collections, will offer plisse skirts, mini and maxidresses, elongated T-shirts, effortless suits and shirts, all crafted from fluid fabrics. For next spring, these include crepe de chine, cotton, printed cadi and stretch georgette.
