Versace is upping the ante in Brazil. The Italian fashion label has opened the first directly-operated store carrying its primary men’s, women’s and accessories lines in Rio de Janeiro, in the Village Mall on Avenida das Americas, bringing the brand’s worldwide door count up to 158.
Versace’s other directly operated stores in Brazil carried secondary product lines only.
Spread across about 1,400 square feet, with marble mosaics and a Byzantine vibe, the store is the first in Brazil to feature the concept developed by Versace creative director Donatella Versace with architect Jamie Fobert.
To mark the opening, Versace created a limited edition of its Signature bag, called Olà Versace, which will be available in studded multicolor calfskin or gold python versions. The words “Olà Versace” will appear in gold lettering on a detachable leather tag with each handbag.
