Will Leather Goods has opened its first Found shop in Portland, Ore. The 2,000-square-foot space at 816 Northwest 23rd Avenue offers a collection of reclaimed bags and other one-of-a-kind finds. It features an 1890s salvaged tin ceiling, a Fifties penny-candy shop, a “craft-a-belt” workshop that uses vintage buckles and a hand-painted, Navajo-inspired floor mural.
“With Found, we’re seeking out worldwide artisans who are creating textiles dyed from natural elements and woven into indigenous patterns, all of which are inherent [in] their respective cultures,” said William Adler, founder. “We’re bringing this together with our own leather craft expertise and discovering that customers are intrigued by what we are doing.”
The curated mix includes vintage leather bags, accessories, textiles, haberdashery and props.
