PARIS — Zuhair Murad has named Nereo Friso commercial and business development director.

Friso, who has previously held managerial positions at various fashion houses including Moschino, Givenchy and most recently Emanuel Ungaro, joined the brand on June 1, according to the company.

With the new appointment, Murad hopes to “reinforce the development” of his brand and “capitalize on various opportunities to be developed,” as he said, without providing further details.

The ready-to-wear label, founded in 1997 in Beirut, currently has 100 points of sale, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Tsum and Harrods.

In 2011, Murad gained a coveted spot on the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture’s official calendar in Paris, where it has been showing its couture collections as an “invited member.”
