Amal Clooney might have a fighter’s spirit in the courtroom, but when it comes to her closet, she’s a sartorial sweetheart.
Clooney stepped out in New York earlier this week wearing a Gucci dress that seamlessly mixed business with a hint of romance. She wore a black silk georgette dress featuring a red bow, white collar and white ruffle sleeves. The piece is from Gucci’s fall 2016 collection.
Clooney was also spotted wearing Gucci last week. She has been in town with her client, 23-year-old Nadia Murad, who survived being taken by ISIS in 2014. Clooney has been meeting at the United Nations with Murad to take ISIS to court over human trafficking and genocide.
The human rights lawyer is known for her polished fashion sense. Clooney paired white elbow-length evening gloves with a Dior Haute Couture gown at the 2015 Golden Globes, a look which sparked a glove trend later in the fall season. She’s also made fashion headlines for the white, floppy hat she matched with a Stella McCartney two-piece suit she wore during her wedding weekend in Venice in 2014. She wore a custom Oscar de la Renta cream gown for her wedding.
Clooney was named Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating Person of the Year in 2014. “What does it take to fascinate one of the most fascinating men in the world?” Walters pondered during her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2014” special. “Amal Alamuddin, known now as Amal Clooney, is suddenly in that stratosphere that we reserve for the Jackie Os and the Princess Di’s and the Kate Middletons,” Walters continued. “That is, everything she does, says or wears is officially fascinating.”
