NEW YORK — Dana Buchman’s longtime co-designer, Karen Harman, has left the bridge sportswear firm, a division of Liz Claiborne Inc.
An internal memo notified employees last week that Harman left to pursue other opportunities. Harman could not be reached for comment.
“She worked with me on the line for 10 years,” Buchman said Friday. “We had a lot of great times together, not only designing and working together, but we traveled around the country. I’m sure we’ll stay in touch.”
Harman’s title was vice president of design. Buchman said a successor would not be named as the design department is being restructured.
At one time, Harman’s name appeared on the label of a casual weekend brand, Dana B. & Karen, which was canceled for fall 1999 in favor of a new segmentation strategy.
