L&T PROMOTES ELFERS TO EXECUTIVE VP
NEW YORK — Lord & Taylor has promoted Jane T. Elfers to executive vice president for dresses, suits, sportswear, coats and accessories. The position is a new one at the store.
Elfers, formerly senior vice president and general merchandise manager for sportswear, will report to Marshall Hilsberg, chairman and chief executive officer.
Lord & Taylor also promoted Lisa Surella to senior vice president and general merchandise manager for sportswear, succeeding Elfers. Surella joined L&T in 1992 as a buyer, became divisional merchandise manager for petites in 1995 and divisional vice president for better sportswear in 1996. In 1998, she became a vice president.
Elfers joined the store in 1989 as a buyer and in 1990 rose to divisional merchandise manager for petites, young attitude sportswear and better blouses. In 1992, she became a divisional merchandise manager for better sportswear, and in 1995, senior vice president. Lord & Taylor is a division of May Department Stores Co.
