CALVIN TURNS COLOR: When the models saunter down the runway at tonight’s Calvin Klein show and bat their eyelashes, the makeup they’ll be flashing won’t be the store-bought stuff. It will come from the designer’s stash.
The show of colors at tonight’s event has been planned as a very quick peek at Klein’s long-awaited color cosmetics collection, which will be introduced globally next spring. The designer hasn’t operated in the color market since the closing of his first cosmetics company about 20 years ago. Sheila Cutner, vice president of global marketing at Calvin Klein Cosmetics, said the significance of the move lies in the expansion of what now is a fragrance business into a full beauty house.
