NEW YORK — In response to apparel manufacturers and retailers that are broadening their e-commerce initiatives, Image Info — a software and digital imaging firm here that has worked with the fashion industry since 1994 — has opened a digital photo studio at 85 Tenth Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets in the Chelsea section of Manhattan.
The 10,000-square-foot studio will service Image Info’s customers, including Polo Jeans, Donna Karan and Nautica, with a fully equipped digital photography facility.
Clients who use Image Info’s services, which include consulting, support and training services, and digital and virtual reality photography, use their images for print, multimedia and e-commerce applications.
The studio opened Aug. 9 and uses digital photography to replace traditional cameras. Digitally photographed images can be edited immediately and prepared for presentations or for posting on a web site. The speed and high quality of digital photography can offer companies, particularly those that change their web offerings frequently, a competitive edge.
“Branded digital images are becoming as important to e-commerce as web site design itself,” said Jonathan Pinsky, co-founder of Image Info.
The studio contains photo facilities and editing stations, offering status information on shoots to clients over the Internet. The company will continue to operate from its West 36th Street headquarters, housing its sales, operations and technical staff.
