SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc. should be getting some good advice about the Internet and other computer matters at its upcoming directors’ meetings. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Computer Inc., has joined the retailer’s board.
Jobs is chairman and chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios and interim chief executive of Apple. Pixar is the computer animation studio that developed the movies “Toy Story” and “A Bug’s Life.”
Jobs’s appointment fills an open spot on Gap’s board, bringing its total to 12, said a company spokesman.
“Steve is one of the most innovative product developers and marketers of our our time,” Millard Drexler, Gap president and chief executive, said in a statement.
