FTC ASKS MORE DATA ON DILLARD’S-MERCANTILE DEAL
NEW YORK — The Federal Trade Commission has asked for more information on Dillard’s tender offer for all Mercantile Stores Co. shares, a deal that could total $2.9 billion.
Dillard’s said the request was expected and it is prepared to work with the FTC. Dillard’s began an $80-a-share offer for Mercantile on May 21. The offer is scheduled to expire June 19.
