PARLUX INKS LICENSE DEAL WITH GENESIS
FORT LAUDERDALE — Parlux Fragrances Inc. reached an agreement this week to license the fragrance rights for the Bal a Versailles and Jean Desprez brands to Genesis International Marketing Corp.
Genesis, a privately held South Florida-based fragrance distributor, will immediately assume operational control of all the Bal a Versailles and Jean Desprez fragrance products that are currently distributed in the U.S. through specialty and department stores as well as internationally in selective markets.
“The licensing of BAV [Bal a Versailles and Jean Desprez businesses] completes Parlux’s transition out of its low-volume brands, allowing us to focus on our stronger, high-profile brands,” said Ilia Lekach, chairman and chief executive officer of Parlux. “Parlux will immediately begin to actively pursue new growth opportunities within the fragrance industry.”
