NEW YORK — Ease? Tom Ford has mixed feelings about one of fashion’s most populist concepts. “It’s not a big word in my vocabulary,” he says. “I think you have to work a little to look beautiful.” Nevertheless, for Gucci cruise, Ford has taken a relatively dressed-down approach, noting that, while the collection “is not distressed, it is a little less perfect than usual.” Case in point, the casual luxe evening look shown here: a slightly wrinkled silk chiffon camisole over silk denim bermuda shorts. “Of course,” Ford adds, “everything should be perfect in its imperfection.” For more on the season, see pages 6 and 7.
