NIKE TAPS MILLER AS JORDAN HEAD
NEW YORK — Nike has named Larry Miller president of Jordan, the signature brand created for the Chicago Bulls’ Michael Jordan.
Miller has been vice president and U.S. general manager for apparel at Nike. He will be succeeded in the general manager post by John Notar, who currently is director of apparel for Nike’s European division.Seth Ellison, director of U.S. brand merchandising, will succeed Notar. All changes are effective Aug. 1.
Miller joined Nike in April 1997.
Before that, he was president of Jantzen, a division of VF Corp.
In November, Nike unveiled Jordan signature apparel for men at retail. The Jordan brand is operated as a separate business.
Notar will be moving from the Netherlands to the company’s corporate headquarters, which are located in Beaverton, Ore.
He will report to George Porter, vice president and general manager of the U.S. division.
