SACHSE NEW EXEC VP AT MACY’S EAST
NEW YORK — Tapping talent from a sister division for a top merchant slot, Macy’s East said Thursday that Peter Sachse of the Bon Marche will become executive vice president and general merchandise manager of its center core businesses, succeeding Edward Brennan, who has left the store.
Sachse is the Seattle-based Bon’s senior vice president and general merchandise manager for men’s and children’s wear. He will join Macy’s East on May 6. Macy’s East and Bon Marche are divisions of Federated Department Stores Inc.
Macy’s center core business covers cosmetics, fine jewelry, accessories, shoes and intimate apparel. Macy’s has three other executive vice presidents for the store’s other merchandise categories. Each reports to Hal Kahn, Macy’s East chairman and chief executive officer.
Brennan has joined Duty Free Shops as executive vice president of merchandising and operations of its Hawaiian division in Honolulu. He spent 16 years at Macy’s.
Sachse began his retail career in 1980 at the former Kansas City division of Macy’s, held various posts at different Macy’s divisions before joining Prange in Green Bay. He became a Bon senior vice president and gmm in 1992, first supervising accessories and apparel, then men’s and children’s.
