SEATTLE PACIFIC EYES WOMEN’S NAUTICA JEANS
NEW YORK — Nautica Marine Denim Co., a division of Seattle Pacific Industries, is negotiating to do licensed women’s jeans with the Nautica label, said Steve Miska, Nautica Marine president.
The negotiations are with Nautica Apparel, licensing arm of Nautica Enterprises, he said, confirming reports of such talks; the line would be in stores starting in September 1998. Nautica officials declined to comment.
Nautica Marine holds the license for Nautica men’s jeans, which will be shipped starting in June.
Bernard Chaus Inc. holds the women’s sportswear license for Nautica.
