ARMANI OPENS A BOUTIQUE IN HAMBURG
MILAN — Giorgio Armani opened a new two-floor boutique in Hamburg, Germany Friday.
The boutique is on Neuer Wall 19 in Fahning Haus, one of Hamburg’s most famous buildings, and spans 4,838 square feet. The boutique, which will carry the full range of Armani’s collections, has a homelike feel and is similar to the designer’s London flagship boutique.
Architect Giancarlo Ortelli created the space: The walls have a stonelike finish, the floors are covered in stained American oak and the fittings are in weathered walnut. It is the designer’s first store in Hamburg.
On Feb. 18, Armani will celebrate the opening of the boutique with a show of his spring/summer 1997 collection. The designer will also host a party with 600 guests.
