BARNEYS JAPAN SEEKING NEW HEAD
TOKYO — Barneys Japan has begun reviewing candidates to fill the post of president and reportedly has Hidetoshi Yamaoka, general manager of products and sales, at the top of the list.
A spokesperson for Barneys Japan declined to identify any candidates.
As reported, Toshiaki Tashiro will resign as president on Feb. 28 to become president of Gucci Japan Ltd.
Prior to joining Barneys Japan last December, Yamaoka was in charge of sales of European women’s wear at Isetan Co. Ltd.
Barneys Japan, a joint venture between Barneys New York and Isetan, operates two freestanding Barneys in Japan, in Tokyo’s Shinjuku section and in Yokohama, and a Barneys shop inside an Isetan store in Singapore.
