LEWARK IN CHARGE OF FEDERATED SYSTEMS GROUP
NEW YORK — Larry Lewark has been named president of Federated Systems Group, the systems provider for Federated’s department store divisions, the company said Thursday.
The position has been vacant since the departure of Larry Hoenig, who held the post of president and chief executive officer, in March 1996. At that time, Hoenig was succeeded by James Amann who became chairman and ceo of the systems group and chairman of Federated’s Financial and Credit Services group, known as FACS.
Lewark, who was senior vice president of credit and systems for FACS and senior vice president of the Federated’s National Bank unit, will assume his new position on April 15.
He will be responsible for the development and management of systems for merchandising, stores, logistics, human resources, credit and finance, and he will report to Amann.
Lewark has spent his entire career at Federated, beginning in 1970 at the former Gold Triangle division in Florida. He was a buyer and store manager before transferring to Burdines, where he was vice president of credit.
Lewark joined FACS in 1990 as senior vice president of credit operations and FACS systems, with responsibility for nearly 4,000 associates.
Lewark will be based in Atlanta with the systems group.
