STRIDE RITE LICENSED FOR LEVI’S FOOTWEAR
NEW YORK — Levi Strauss has signed a licensing agreement with Stride Rite Corp. for a line of Levi’s brand footwear.
Stride Rite will manufacture footwear for women, men and children under the Levi’s name, which will be closely coordinated with other Levi’s brand products. The new products are expected to start shipping to department and specialty stores for July 1998 selling. Retail prices will be around $55 to $110.
Levi Strauss, based in San Francisco, has not signed many licenses, but does look for opportunities to ad value to the brand, said a company spokesman. It has a license with Genesco for Dockers brand men’s shoes.
