NEW YORK — A quartet of young designers will be sponsored for the first time by the In-Style Works trade show next week in a special area dubbed “Industrie Innovators.”
The four collections selected for innovation and achievement in design and execution are Lotta; Mark Montano; Flesh and Bone by Pamela Barish, and Rubin-Chapelle. The trade show will be held May 4-6 at the Hotel Inter-Continental. The Industrie Innovators is another of the show’s efforts to support fashion talent. Each January it presents its In-Style Works Designer Awards recognizing collections associated with the show. The awards are presented at a benefit, which this year saluted the Gilda’s Club cancer care organization.
Debra LaChance, president of In-Style Works, said in a statement, “Although the new and upcoming fashion talent has always represented the backbone of the industry, today’s retail environment does not make it easy to succeed.” The goal of the new program is to give this talent “the opportunity to be marketed in an upscale venue.”
