ANNA SUI TAPS KOSANN FOR NEW POST OF PRESIDENT
NEW YORK — Anna Sui Corp. has named Rod Kosann president.
It is the first time the 16-year-old company has had a president. Previously, Sui ran both the design and business portions of her company.
“I was just split in too many directions,” Sui said. “Business isn’t really my expertise, and I wanted to bring in someone who could take over.”
Kosann was executive vice president of the Burlington Sportswear division of Burlington Industries.
“He gets it,” she said. “I think what I do here is a little different from other places.
Kosann will provide strategic direction and oversee operations and finance for Anna Sui and its licenses, as well as overseeing the worldwide expansion of the company. She now has licenses for bridge and jeanswear lines with Italian manufacturer Gilmar, as well as shoes, bags, eyewear, legwear and special occasion dresses, and will soon have boutiques in Japan through her agreement with Isetan there.
